A warm climate for the better part of the year in south Texas affords us the ability see tracks like this very frequently. While there are several other species of snakes that make their home in the thorn thicket, this track is likely left by the most common snake- a poisonous viper called the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox).
