2025 was a Banner Year for our Mesoxaea texana on the South Texas Sand Sheet in Puerto Rico, Texas!

  • Salvia ballotiflora / Shrubby Blue Sage
  • Eysenhardtia texana / Texas Kidneywood

Mesoxaea texana behaviors observed/documented in 2025:

  • Territoriality – Challenging, zooming, and hovering
  • Nectaring
  • Collecting pollen
  • Grooming
  • Copulation
